August 12, 2006...A Wedding in Joliet, Illinois

For the last four years we have travelled to Chicago to visit my son while he attended the University of Illinois Veterinary Medical School. So when I had an opportunity to photograph Nicole and Mike's wedding in nearby Joliet, I jumped!

I had the pleasure to have as my associate, Tim Walters, www.timwaltersphoto.com .

They were married at the Cathedral of St Raymond's. The "church ladies" and Priest were so nice and gave me virtually "carte blanche" to document the wedding as it unfolded.

After the wedding what was really great was I had two hours to play! From the church we went to a beautiful botanical gardens and then to a firestation, Mike is a firefighter!

After the photos were done, we proceeded to DiNolfo's where the guests just let loose and a good time was had by all!

Those eyes!! That look...

Welcome Bailey!

It's always a rush to get the priviledge to photograph the babies of my wedding clients. I had the pleasure of photographing Karen and Jason's wedding and to be able to photograph Bailey was an honor.

We decided to shoot here in the Studio. I have a great space that allows me to shoot available light, no flashes going off to distract the little one. She was a joy the minute they walked in.

Karen mentioned that at first she was looking for smiles and the more that she looked at the portraits the more she saw the personality of Bailey coming thru.

All I can say is Bailey was so much fun to photograph!

Thank you Karen and Jason,

Roy

Michelle has a Quince!!

A quinceaƱera is a Hispanic tradition celebrating a 15-year-old girl’s transition from childhood into young womanhood.

What a blast I had photographing Michelle's Quince!

We started off with a great portrait session at the Studio and on to the beach. After meeting this beautiful young lady and seeing how beautiful she was inside as well I knew that this was going to be a special affair.

The evening started off with 15 lovely ladies entering the ballroom and getting ready for Michelle's grand entrance. Then Michelle escorted by her father Michael onto the dance floor for a first dance. With the energy that only Miami Heat DJ Irie can summon, the party went nonstop in to night!

The reception took place at the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. Camila Chamorro of the Ritz did a fantastic job coordinating the staff to perfection. The centerpieces were created by the "always" fabulous Karen Cohen of Always Flowers. The cake was designed by Sara Paz and flawlessly executed by Chef Frederick of the Ritz!

Thank you, Michelle!
